Monday, August, 21, 2017, the Great American Total Solar Eclipse will trail across the United States along a stretch of land only 70 miles wide. Sedalia is considered a prime viewing location. People who descend upon this "path of totality" for the big event are in for an unforgettable experience. Celebrate this rare event with us at 11:00am at the Trails End Landmark on the Missouri State Fairgrounds. Festivities will include a horseback trail ride on the KATY Trail, exclusive tours of the Landmark, Cow Chip Toss, Cow Patty Bingo, food, drink, and much more.
Brandy Von Holten is the Trail Boss for the Total Eclipse of the Trail! This event will only happen once in your life time!!! This trail ride will be on the Katy Trail and end at the historical Trails End National Monument located on the MO State Fairgrounds! This event is being put on by the MO State Fair Foundation!
At the conclusion of the trail ride, we will gather around the national monument for a photo during the total solar eclipse that starts at 1:11PM and will only last 1 minute and 29 seconds! It's going to be DARK IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DAY ON AUGUST 21st!!!!!
There will be food and drink available, cow patty bingo, and cow chip contest.
If you are not a rider, that is perfectly... fine. You are welcome to walk to the monument!

Your fee of $20.17 includes a pair of solar eclipse safety goggles, a beverage ticket, an event bandanna, and a chance to win a limited edition bronze statue!
Camp at Von Holten Ranch and trailer to the MO State Fairgrounds with Brandy on Saturday morning. She will be riding Chalkboard since the eclipse is going to cause a "black out".
Von Holten Ranch will have a special color change cup that will turn from white to black in honor of this special event. A training clinic will be offered on Sunday afternoon at Von Holten Ranch to ensure that your equine is ready for the Katy Trail with bicycles, baby strollers, runners, and crowds!
