SUMMARY:SFCC Theatre Arts to present ‘Murder Ballad’
DESCRIPTION:State Fair Community College’s Theatre Arts program will present “Murder Ballad” at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 7-9 and 2 p.m. Oct. 10 in Thompson O’Sullivan Studio Theatre (Yeater 126) on the Sedalia campus. Admission is $5 per person; SFCC students and employees have free admission. Individuals 60 years old and above receive free admission at the 2 p.m. Oct. 10 performance. \n“Murder Ballad” has been described as a “clever chamber rock musical which has plenty of sharp wit and the driving force of a noir thriller” by Lyn Gardner in her review for “The Guardian.” This dramatic musical tells the story of Sara\, a wife and mother\, who seems to have it all. However\, she rekindles a relationship with a former boyfriend that results in a tragic love triangle. \nJulia Jordan wrote the book on which the play is based. Juliana Nash composed the music; she and Jordan wrote the lyrics. SFCC adjunct Kristen Henning is the director of the play. This show is recommended for audiences 16 years and older. \nTickets may be purchased at SFCCTheatre.eventbrite.com or by calling the Box Office at (660) 530-5814 from noon to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday and two hours prior to performance time.
