$5State Fair Community College’s Theatre Arts program will present “Murder Ballad” at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 7-9 and 2 p.m. Oct. 10 in Thompson O’Sullivan Studio Theatre (Yeater 126) on the Sedalia campus. “Murder Ballad” has been described as a “clever chamber rock musical which has plenty of sharp wit and the driving force of a noir thriller” by Lyn Gardner in her review for “The Guardian.” This dramatic musical tells the story of Sara, a wife and mother, who seems to have it all. However, she rekindles a relationship with a former boyfriend that results in a tragic love triangle.
Julia Jordan wrote the book on which the play is based. Juliana Nash composed the music; she and Jordan wrote the lyrics. SFCC adjunct Kristen Henning is the director of the play. This show is recommended for audiences 16 years and older.
