Cowboy Mounted Shooting – Don’t miss the exciting action of Cowboy Mounted Shooting at the Missouri State Fair on Friday, August 10! Mounted contestants will compete in this fast action timed event using two .45 caliber single action revolvers each loaded with five rounds of specially prepared blank ammunition. The Cowboy Mounted Shooting Association “C.M.S.A.” has a variety of levels of competition for everyone, ranging from novice levels to the seasoned professional. – See The Video…
The hidden gems of Downtown Sedalia, Missouri include – theaters, historical architecture, arts, dining, shopping and much more! The hosting “venue” for many Sedalia gatherings like the Christmas Parade, Thanksgiving Lighting & Fireworks, Scott Joplin Festival and many other events. Beginning on April 19, 2018 don’t miss special events held in Downtown Sedalia as part of the “3rd Thursdays” festivities.

Join The Liberty Center Association for the Arts for a fun-filled evening viewing the classic “Rocky Horror Picture Show” movie and participate in all the shenanigans that go with the event. You’re invited to come dressed as your favorite Rocky Horror character. Admission: $10.00
Make plans now to attend the Sedalia Homes Tour on April 14, 2018 from 1 pm to 4 pm.
Six beautiful homes will be featured in the third annual homes tour sponsored by the Heard Memorial Club House.
Homes included on this year’s tour: Zarah Melville Loft (118 East Main), Mary & Everette Wood Home (31170 Overstreet Road), Judy & Dr. William Woolery Home (624 West 7th), the Imhauser/Singer Writers’ Retreat (616 and 616 1/2 South Ohio), Julie & David Goodson Home (1640 Hedge Apple), and the M.L. McGuire Home (2495 Woodland Drive). One loft is a newly renovated home of Modern Industrial style in an 1873 historic building. Another loft is located above the former Snyder Confectioneries store and has memorabilia honoring many of Sedalia’s notable people and businesses. One home built in 2013 is found on a 6 generation farm founded in 1857 by John J. Lamm. Another home built in 2000 sits beside Woodland Estates Lake in Walnut Hills. One Queen Anne Style Victorian home was built in 1891. It became the home of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Yeater. The Yeater estate helped to build the first permanent State Fair Community College building. One home was recently built and won’t even be found on your GPS device!
Everyone is invited to sip, taste, shop, and explore during Downtown Sedalia’s Wine and Brews on the Avenues! Gather your friends and family and stroll The Avenues – Downtown Sedalia, explore the businesses, and enjoy tasting the wine and brews on September 29, 2018 from 2 pm to 6 pm. Think Friends. Be sure to head to downtown Sedalia on Thanksgiving evening (November 22, 2018) for the Lighting of the Hotel Bothwell fireworks show. The crowd participates in the countdown to the lighting of the Hotel. Once the switch is thrown, there will be fireworks that are synchronized to holiday music. It is a great family oriented way to close out Thanksgiving and begin the Christmas season.
