The 9th annual Sedalia Rails Train Show will feature operating model train layouts and door prizes. Vendors will be selling model trains, railroad artifacts, books, and toys. Food will be available for purchase. Proceeds from the show support the Pettis County Missouri Historical Society and Museum, a non-profit 501C organization, located at 228 Dundee Avenue in Sedalia. An open house at two Sedalia historic homes will be held Saturday, November 20, 2021 from 1-4 p.m. The Queen Ann style home at 501 West Broadway was built in 1891 for John and Lillian Heard. This is an example of an historic home that is thoroughly modernized for comfortable living. The 1906 Classical Revival home at 200 West Broadway was entrusted by Lillian Heard in 1935 to Sorosis and Helen G. Steele Music Club. This club house which is used for educational and charitable purposes remains close to the same design as when it was built. It contains many of the original Heard furnishings.
